The Key to Finding Pleasing Aromatherapy Blends

If you have developed an interest in aromatherapy, a natural course will be to try out different aromatherapy blends that will be customized to your individual tastes and needs. Keep in mind that while this craft can make for a fun hobby for aromatherapy gurus, true blending often takes plenty of research and practice to perfect the craft. In fact, many perfume creators literally spend years learning exactly how to blend aromas and oils to create the most beautiful scents and the most effective therapies. Still, if you are interested in trying out your own aromatherapy blends, you can do so with a little bit of knowledge and practice under your belt.

What you need to know Before Combining Oils

For safety reasons, it is important to have a good, basic knowledge about which oils can be blended, and what they can be blended with. It is also good to understand what medicinal effect certain oils can have, so that you avoid adding oils to your aromatherapy blends that might have contraindications to the purpose that you are trying to achieve. For example, let’s say that you are attempting to put oils together to create an aromatherapy blend that will help you get to sleep, as well as address other issues you might be suffering from. In this case, you might want to avoid peppermint and cypress oils that tend to be energizing, even though they may assist with the other issues that you are trying to address in your aromatherapy blend.
